A type rating is an allowance to fly a certain aircraft model that requires additional training beyond the scope of initial license and aircraft class training.

Normal Type Rating

A normal type rating allows you to fly all types of flights with the specific model and allows you to fly for revenue

Training Type Rating

A training type rating limits the type of flights that you can fly with the specific model. The training type rating allows you to only fly training flights.
